Johann Ernst Bach [25] (Musician)

Born: August 5, 1683 - Arnstadt, Thuringia, Germany
Died: March 21, 1739 - Arnstadt, Thuringia, Germany

Johann Ernst Bach [25] was son of Johann Christoph Bach [12]. He studied in Hamburg and Frankfurt and in 1707 became organist of the Neukirche at Arnstadt, succeeding J.S. Bach [24]. During winter 1705-1706 he had deputized for J.S. Bach during the latter's journey to Lübeck to visit Dietrich Buxtehude. From 1728 he was organist of the Liebfrauenkirche, Arnstadt.
